If you spend any time browsing forums geared for those in the work-at-home community, you will inevitably see a post that asks “which is better, XSitePro or Microsoft FrontPage?”

Comparing the two programs is a bit like comparing apples and oranges.  Both are programs that build websites, but they were created for different purposes.  XSitePro was created with the Internet marketer in mind.  It has many tools that only an Internet marketer would need. 

However, FrontPage was created to make compelling websites. And since it is laid out in the basic Microsoft environment, anyone who has used Word will feel at home with FrontPage.  That being said, here are some comparisons of the two programs:

As mentioned above, XSitePro contains helpful tools and wizards that Internet marketers will find very helpful.  Some of these include a Google Adsense tool that allows you to insert your Adsense ads into your website with just a couple mouse clicks.




The software also has a feature that helps you create redirects for your affiliate links, which can really help you increase your conversion rates.  XSitePro will also add keywords to your meta tags, which will help in your search engine optimization.  And the program will also give you a report that lists the changes you can choose to make to your site in order to further increase your search engine rankings.

XSitePro also has nifty design features.  The software will automatically update your navigation when you add a new page and it will create a sitemap for you.  The software includes a generous supply of customizable templates as well as a WYSIWYG editor (what you see is what you get) that will allow you to create pages easily, even if you do not know any HTML.

That’s not to say that FrontPage doesn’t have its own benefits.  FrontPage also comes with a WYSIWYG editor, and you can also view your website in code, or a combo of both.  This will help you learn HTML as you go along.

Using tables and themes, you can create numerous styles of websites very quickly.  If you want one page of your site to have three columns and another to have two, that is fine.  You have complete control over the look and feel of your website.

Eventually, your business will get to a size where you will need to hire a virtual assistant to help you with site updates and so forth.  When you use FrontPage, you can both work on a website.  However, if you use XSitePro, the person who wants to make changes will have to have the complete, updated file of the site or else things will get overwritten. 

If you keep adding fresh content to your site, it will one day become quite large.  Your files will be easier to organize and maintain when you design your site in FrontPage.
