How
to Team Up on Joint Ventures
Teaming up with another
internet
marketer on a joint venture project is a great way to grow your
business. A joint venture is when two or more people get together to
form one product. This can take the form of a special report, an
e-book, an audio recording or even a membership website.
This is an excellent way
for two or
more people to promote their services together. You will share in the
work and the profits. For example, maybe you have a website devoted to
cooking, and you know another internet marketer who happens to be great
at recording audio. The two of you can team up and create an audio
information product about cooking. Or perhaps you know a writer and you
can team up with them and create an e-book.
Once you have an idea
for a project,
you will need to find someone to team up with. Using the above example
of the cooking website, let’s say you want to team up with
someone who has a site focused on children and create an e-book
featuring child-friendly recipes. Start researching websites that focus
on your target market. Once you find a few that you like, email the
website owners and ask if they are interested in this type of project.
You can also visit
business related
websites and forums. You will get to know the members, and can find
people to team up with there. You will also more than likely be allowed
to post messages asking for partners on projects.
It is a good idea to
interview
several potential co-workers before you make a decision about who you
form a partnership with. If you are not familiar with them, you may
want to ask for samples of work they have done in the past. Make sure
your personalities match, as you will be spending time together on the
project.
You will also want to
make sure that
everyone involved knows exactly what type of work they will be doing
for the project, and when the deadline is. Don’t assume
people
will work on the same schedule as you. You may be an overachiever, and
expect a deadline of a week and the person you are working with assumes
there is a deadline of a month. These misunderstandings can create
conflicts and negative feelings. Put everything in writing ahead of
time to avoid these problems.
Joint ventures can be a
fun way to
get to know other internet marketers and collaborate on projects. You
may really enjoy the process of brainstorming together and creating
something to fit both of your target markets’ needs. Plus,
you
will be expanding your market at the same time, and you’ll
only
have to do half the work.
